Author Guidelines

Instructions for preparing, formatting, submitting and publishing scholarly manuscripts in the Advanced Scientific Research Journal.

Welcome to Authors

The Advanced Scientific Research Journal (ASRJ) welcomes original scholarly contributions that advance knowledge through rigorous scientific research, systematic analysis, theoretical development, methodological innovation or significant scholarly synthesis.

Authors are responsible for ensuring that submitted manuscripts are original, scientifically sound, ethically conducted, accurately reported and prepared according to these guidelines.

Important: Submission of a manuscript implies that the authors have read and understood the journal's submission, authorship, ethical, originality and disclosure requirements.

1. Before Submission

Authors should complete the following checks before submitting a manuscript:

✓ The manuscript is original.
✓ The manuscript is not under review elsewhere.
✓ All listed authors have approved the manuscript.
✓ Author affiliations and contact details are complete.
✓ Figures and tables are properly cited.
✓ References have been checked for accuracy.
✓ Ethical approvals are reported where applicable.
✓ Funding and conflicts of interest are disclosed.

Authors should also disclose related manuscripts, previous reports, preprints or publications that may overlap substantially with the submitted work.

2. Types of Manuscripts

ASRJ may consider the following scholarly article types, subject to editorial suitability and peer review:

Article Type Purpose
Original Research Article Reports original research with clearly described methodology, results and interpretation.
Review Article Provides a critical and structured synthesis of published literature on a significant research topic.
Systematic Review Presents a reproducible literature-search and evidence-synthesis methodology.
Short Communication Reports important preliminary findings or concise research contributions.
Case Study / Case Report Presents a scientifically relevant case, observation or applied research problem where appropriate.
Methodological Article Introduces or evaluates a research method, model, technique, framework or analytical approach.

3. Recommended Manuscript Structure

Unless the article type requires another structure, original research articles should normally contain:

  1. Title
  2. Author names and affiliations
  3. Corresponding author information
  4. Abstract
  5. Keywords
  6. Introduction
  7. Literature Review / Background
  8. Materials and Methods / Methodology
  9. Results
  10. Discussion
  11. Conclusion
  12. Data Availability Statement
  13. Funding Statement
  14. Conflict of Interest Statement
  15. Author Contributions
  16. Acknowledgements
  17. References

4. Title, Abstract and Keywords

Title

The title should be concise, informative and accurately reflect the subject of the research. Avoid unnecessary abbreviations and promotional language.

Abstract

The abstract should communicate the purpose, methodology, principal findings and conclusions of the research.

For original research, a structured abstract using headings such as Background, Methods, Results and Conclusion is recommended where appropriate.

Keywords

Provide approximately 4–8 relevant keywords or phrases that accurately represent the manuscript.

5. Manuscript Formatting

Manuscripts should be submitted in a clear, editable document format unless the journal specifies otherwise.

Element Recommendation
Language English, written clearly and professionally.
Font Use a readable standard academic font.
Headings Use a consistent hierarchical heading structure.
Figures Number consecutively and provide descriptive captions.
Tables Number consecutively and provide clear titles.
Equations Use consistent mathematical notation.
References Use a consistent scholarly citation style.

Authors should ensure that all figures, tables, datasets and supplementary materials are appropriately referenced in the manuscript.

6. References and Citations

References should be accurate, complete and directly relevant to the manuscript.

  • Every reference cited in the text should appear in the reference list.
  • Every reference in the reference list should be cited in the manuscript where appropriate.
  • Authors should verify author names, article titles, journal names, publication year, volume, issue and pages where applicable.
  • DOI identifiers should be included whenever reliably available.
  • Authors should not manipulate citations for the purpose of artificially increasing citation counts.
Reference integrity: Authors are responsible for the accuracy of references and should not cite sources that they have not appropriately verified.

7. Authorship and Contributions

Authorship should reflect substantial intellectual or scholarly contribution to the work. All listed authors should approve the final manuscript and accept responsibility for their contribution.

The corresponding author is responsible for communication with the journal and should ensure that all authors have approved the submission and that the required declarations are complete.

Author Contributions

Where appropriate, authors should provide a contribution statement describing roles such as conceptualization, methodology, investigation, data curation, analysis, writing, review and supervision.

Changes in Authorship

Requests to add, remove or reorder authors after submission should be supported by an appropriate explanation and agreement from the relevant authors.

The journal may request documentation before approving authorship changes.

8. Originality, Duplicate Submission and Plagiarism

Manuscripts must represent original scholarly work. A manuscript should not be submitted simultaneously to multiple journals.

Substantial overlap with previously published work must be transparently disclosed to the editor. Related publications should be cited and supplied when requested.

Duplicate submission is not permitted. Authors must not submit the same manuscript simultaneously to more than one journal. This principle is also reflected in current ICMJE recommendations. :contentReference[oaicite:1]{index=1}

The journal may screen manuscripts for plagiarism, excessive textual overlap, fabricated content, image manipulation or other forms of research misconduct.

9. Research Ethics

Research involving human participants, animals, identifiable personal information or other regulated research activities must comply with applicable ethical and institutional requirements.

Human Participants

Where applicable, authors should provide the name of the ethics committee or institutional review board and the approval/reference number.

Informed Consent

Where applicable, authors should state whether informed consent was obtained and explain any relevant exceptions.

Animal Research

Animal research should comply with applicable institutional and legal standards and should identify the relevant approval where required.

Privacy

Personally identifiable information should not be published unless appropriate permission and ethical requirements have been satisfied.

10. Funding and Conflict of Interest

Funding Statement

Authors should disclose financial support for the work, including the name of the funding organization and, where relevant, the role of the funder.

Conflict of Interest

Authors should disclose financial and non-financial relationships or activities that could reasonably be perceived as influencing the research.

Transparent disclosure helps readers evaluate the work and supports confidence in the scholarly record. :contentReference[oaicite:2]{index=2}

No conflict statement: If there are no relevant conflicts, authors may state:

"The authors declare that they have no competing interests that could have influenced the work reported in this article."

11. Data Availability and Research Materials

Authors should provide an appropriate Data Availability Statement describing whether the data supporting the findings are available and, where applicable, how they can be accessed.

Depending on the research, an appropriate statement may indicate that data are publicly available, available on reasonable request, contained within the article and supplementary files, or restricted because of ethical, privacy, confidentiality or legal considerations.

Example: "The data supporting the findings of this study are available from the corresponding author upon reasonable request, subject to applicable ethical and confidentiality requirements."

12. Use of Artificial Intelligence and Generative Tools

Authors may use appropriate artificial intelligence or generative tools as research or writing assistance where permitted, but authors remain responsible for the accuracy, originality, integrity and final content of their manuscript.

AI tools must not be listed as authors

AI systems cannot take responsibility for a manuscript, disclose conflicts, approve the final version or accept responsibility for the integrity of the research.

Disclosure

Where AI or generative tools materially contributed to manuscript preparation, analysis, image creation or other relevant activities, authors should disclose the use in an appropriate statement.

Example AI disclosure:

"During the preparation of this manuscript, the authors used [tool name] for [describe purpose]. The authors reviewed and edited the output and take full responsibility for the final content of the manuscript."

Current ICMJE recommendations include dedicated guidance concerning the use of AI by authors and other participants in scholarly publishing. :contentReference[oaicite:3]{index=3}

13. Copyright and Permissions

Authors must obtain appropriate permission to reproduce copyrighted figures, tables, photographs, questionnaires, substantial text or other third-party material where permission is required.

Proper attribution and citation must accompany reused material.

Authors should not submit material for which they do not have the necessary rights or permissions.

14. Manuscript Submission

Manuscripts should be submitted through the journal's designated online submission system.

15. Editorial Assessment and Peer Review

Submitted manuscripts may undergo an initial editorial assessment to determine whether the manuscript is within the journal's scope and meets basic scholarly and technical requirements.

Manuscripts that pass the initial assessment may be sent for peer review according to the journal's editorial policy.

Reviewers evaluate manuscripts according to relevant scholarly criteria, which may include originality, methodological rigor, clarity, significance, evidence, ethical compliance and quality of presentation.

Editorial decisions may include acceptance, minor revision, major revision or rejection.

16. Revised Manuscripts

When revisions are requested, authors should submit a revised manuscript together with a clear response to reviewer and editorial comments.

Responses should identify where changes were made or explain respectfully why a suggested change was not adopted.

Revised manuscripts should be submitted within the timeframe communicated by the editorial office.

17. Publication and Post-Publication Responsibilities
